Silvia G. Priori, MD, PhD
Dr. Priori is one of the leading scientists in the field of long-QT syndrome. She is a clinical cardiologist specializing in the field of inherited arrhythmia syndromes. Much of Dr. Priori's research has focused on the genetic component of cardiac defects. She serves on the editorial board for the following journals: Circulation; Circulation Research, European Heart Journal, Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology (Associate Editor), Cardiovascular Research, Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology; Italian Heart Journal; Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology and Therepeutics.
In addition, Dr. Priori has authored and co-authored a large number of peer-reviewed articles and has been the recipient of several awards and honors including BCVS Thomas Smith Memorial Lecture of the American Heart Association; "ESC Silver Medal, Outstanding contribution development of Scientific Guidelines"; Conferimento della "The Michel Mirowski Lectureship" della John Hopkins University, Baltimora, USA.; Member of the Board of the SADS Foundation; "Scholar in Cardiology" – Italian Society of Cardiology; and Outstanding Research Award in Pediatric Cardiology of the American Heart Association.
